Jon Kretzu

Jon has enjoyed an over 40-year-long career as a Theatre Director, Artistic Director, Writer, Dramaturg, Fine Arts Critic, and Professor. Jon has directed over 100 productions for Regional Theatres across the U S and Canada. He has also taught acting, dramatic literature, and film studies for many universities and studios all over the west coast and Midwest, as well as writing fine arts criticism for a number of newspapers and publications. Jon is very happy to be returning to Celebration Lifelong Learning for his third time as an instructor.

    Course description

    A follow-up to my Spring Course, this is a continuing exploration of the power of cinema to enrich our lives. The Fall Session will carefully examine 6 more powerful films in detail. This course’s films will examine the American family in various forms and periods. Note: This course runs for two hours.

    Course description

    This course is a detailed study of the history of thrillers in radio, film, and television. We’ll take a deep dive into the insatiable fascination and love of audiences to be delightfully scared and entertained by a wide variety of media.
