Rene is a Celebration resident and experienced crochet instructor who enjoys helping adults discover the fun and satisfaction of working with yarn. She has taught crochet for several years, with a focus on making fiber arts approachable, relaxing, and beginner-friendly.

Rene has previously taught finger knitting through Lifelong Learning and treats her classes as hands-on workshops, giving students time to practice, ask questions, and receive individual help. Her teaching style is patient, encouraging, and practical, with an emphasis on helping students leave class feeling confident enough to continue their projects at home.

Whether teaching crochet, finger knitting, or seasonal yarn projects, Rene loves sharing creative skills that are useful, enjoyable, and accessible to all experience levels.

    Course description

    Join us for a fun, hands-on finger knitting workshop where you will learn how to make a soft, cozy blanket using only your hands! No needles or crochet hooks are required! This class is perfect for beginners, even if you’ve never knitted or crocheted before. During the course, you’ll learn how to get started, create consistent stitches, add new yarn, manage your blanket as it grows, and finish your project neatly. This is a relaxed, supportive class designed to help you build confidence while working on a practical project you can continue at home. Because this course is taught workshop-style, you’ll have time to practice, ask questions, and receive individual help as you work. Participants should expect to leave with a strong understanding of the process and a beautiful blanket. Come ready to learn, relax, and enjoy the satisfaction of creating something warm and handmade with your own two hands!

    Course description

    Join us for a fun, hands-on finger knitting workshop where you will learn how to make a soft, pretty pumpkin using only your hands! No needles or crochet hooks are required! This class is perfect for beginners, even if you’ve never knitted or crocheted before. During this course, you will learn the basic finger knitting technique, how to shape your knitted piece into a pumpkin, how to gather and finish your project, and how to add simple decorative touches such as a stem, leaves, or twine. These pumpkins are a wonderful way to create cozy fall decorations for your home, table, mantel, or gift giving.
    Because this course is taught workshop-style, you’ll have time to practice, ask questions, and receive individual help as you work. Participants should expect to leave with the skills to make more pumpkins on their own, plus at least one beautiful handmade pumpkin started or completed.
