Back-to-School Supplies Needed

Celebration Lifelong Learning, Inc. is participating in the Education Foundation's Annual School Supply Drive. We invite you to join us in helping local students start the school year ready to learn. We will have a collection box at the Open House at Town Hall on Tuesday, August 25 and at Windsor on Wednesday, August 26 from 10:00 am - 12 noon.

With 75% of local students living in low-to-moderate income households, many families face difficult choices when back-to-school season arrives. Together, we can help ensure every child has the supplies they need to succeed.

Please consider a donation of new school supplies like backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, folders, and more.

Wellness Club
Tuesday, September 1
11:00 am - 12:00 noon (via Zoom)
Facilitator: Alexis Saire

Sleep and Memory
We usually think of sleep as a quiet time, a break from life, but underneath that quiet there is a complex coordination of brain activity. Scientists now understand memory and learning depend largely on quality and quantity of sleep. The brain runs a nightly process which determines what you remember, what you forget, and how well you learn tomorrow. By understanding the direct relationship between memory and sleep, we can take charge of improving both!

Craft Club
Tuesday, September 1
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Artists' Den at Windsor
Facilitator: Jane Wahl

Do you have a creative project that you just never seem to have time to work on? This club is for crafters, quilters, and artists of any kind, who want to get together with others to work on their ongoing projects. Sometimes it just takes a little commitment and motivation to finish (or start) a project. Our hope is that this club will provide that! Just bring your current project to work on, with others who are doing the same. You can demonstrate your craft to the group, get input and possibly some tips, or learn new skills from others.

Book Club
Wednesday, September 2
10:00 am - 12 noon (via Zoom)
Facilitators: Dolores & Don Salvo

The Measure by Nikki Erlick
Recommended by Joyce Romano:
What happens when everyone in the world receives a mysterious “string” that depicts the length of their lives? What do individual people do with that information? How is the social order affected?

Recipe Club
Wednesday, September 2
1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Jones Room at Lakeside Park
Facilitator: Meryl Rachlin

It may be September, but it’s still bloody hot outside! So this month, we’re keeping things cool with a “Cold” theme.

Bring a favorite dish, snack, appetizer, dessert—or anything else—that is served at room temperature or below. Think refreshing salads, chilled dips, sandwiches, cold pasta dishes, fruit, no-bake treats, and other warm-weather favorites.

Make something you love, bring enough to share, and if you’d like, bring along the recipe too.

No ovens required at the table—just good food and good company. Stay cool!

Travel Club
Thursday, September 3
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm (via Zoom)
Facilitator: Cindy Dykman

Join travel expert Cindy as she continues to share her visit to Scotland, including the Isle of Skye, as well as some interesting experiences in London.  She'll also have some updates to share on collected travel news and trends.
