In late July, I will journey to Germany, France, and Italy for, you guessed it, wine and food! Would you like to enjoy a recap of this trip, learn more about some of the wine regions I traveled to, all while enjoying a selection of wines from these areas? In this three-week course, we will enjoy a little taste of German wines in week one, French wines in week two, and Italian wines the third week. Pack your international wine taste buds and come travel to Old World Europe with us! This course has a materials fee. Program Mission: Welcome Aboard Spaceship Earth! As we travel through the Milky Way together, let’s explore the enigma, “Are we alone in the Universe?” This question has animated human curiosity since our earliest ancestors stared into the Cosmos. This highly interactive program intends to embrace this curiosity amidst the dispute surrounding the recent government release of UAP or UFO sightings and the disturbing mysteries involving the death and/or disappearance of 11 scientists! Have you ever seen what you believe was a UFO sighting? If yes, 17% of other Americans agree with you! During the course, we will explore three potential scenarios: 1-Extraterrestrial Civilizations or ETCs exist and are already here; 2-ETCs exist but we have not found legitimate evidence of their existence; 3-Earth is “rare”, we are alone in the universe. Astronomers estimate the observable universe contains perhaps as many as 1 septillion stars. Someone must be out there!

Nearly 300 years ago, George Frederic Handel created a masterpiece, the Messiah. We will have engaging discussions about the Baroque Era, other well-known pieces that Handel composed, and of course, the famous “Hallelujah Chorus” from the Messiah. There will be guided listening and historical exploration. This course is held in time for Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra’s performance of Handel’s Messiah on December 17th at Celebration Community Presbyterian Church, 511 Celebration Avenue at 7:00 PM.

I am excited to introduce this new class utilizing botanicals. Using live, pressed dry, and even artificial flowers, we will create several different types of artistic results. We will experiment with light-sensitive mono printing. We will print directly from plant material. We will hammer flowers and greens and transfer their pigments to cards. We will place and glue pressed flowers creating framed art or cards. As I write this class description, I am still discovering all that we might be able to do with flowers to create new forms of art.
